We city slickers are sometimes out of touch with the Earth and nature. When I lived off the grid ( in the desert ) water was precious. It still is precious. We got excited when the rainstorms were moving in. We had to go out of our way to collect drinking water. My boyfriend : )...told me about Nibi Walk. There was a recent chemical spill in Elk River. There are now 300,000 people that are living with undrinkable water along the Ohio River. This chemical spill was the third chemical accident to occur in the Kanawha River Valley within the last five years.
The Nibi Walk is lead by two Anishinaabe Grandmothers. They just completed their third Nibi Walk today. This walk was for the Ohio River which consisted of 981 miles. Every step of this walk is a prayer and the journey is ceremony.

Last night I had a wonderful time modeling at Concrete Ocean Art Gallery. These drawings were done by artist Melissa Rose. They were my favorite of the bunch. She has a website at http://melissarzuniga.wix.com/home#! I really enjoyed the good vibes and creative space at Concrete Ocean Art Gallery.
